Mission of the Miracle League of Arizona

The mission of the Miracle League of Arizona, Inc. is to –

  • Provide opportunities for children / adults with spoecial needs to play Miracle League baseball, regardless of their ability or age
  • Promote community support and sponsorship of Miracle Leagues in Arizona
  • Promote construction of special facilities which meet the unique needs of Miracle League players and their families

We cannot change or cure the medical issues life has dealt members of our community with disabilities.  What we can do is provide them an opportunity to experience the joy and sense of self-esteem that comes from hitting a baseball, running the bases and being a part of the Great American Pastime of Baseball.

Miracle League in Arizona

The Miracle League of Arizona (MLoAZ) was borne from the interest and desire of two local Phoenix businessmen who were struck by a broadcast news article.  The first organizational meeting of the League was in October of 2004 and in attendance were several individuals with an interest in seeing Miracle Fields developed in Arizona.  At that meeting assignments were made by the nominated / elected co-chairs for service on the board.  At a meeting of the board in March 2006, the following individuals were seated by the board and activity undertaken to meet out goal of building a field to be used in Spring of 2007.

State of Arizona organizational documents were completed in 2005 and membership with National Miracle League Association confirmed.  IRS 501(c)3 documentation were received in March 2006 and fund-raising commenced to establish the first Miracle League in Arizona.
