A short comment about the volunteer registration process, I’ve just filled out my own registration information and have asked our Volunteer Coordinator to allow me to perform his background check before he takes on the job of screening everyone else.
In many youth sports organizations, performing a background check seems like the most sensible thing to do – so why doesn’t the government legislate it? The answer is that everyone is already doing it, that is anyone who we, as parents, would want to be involved with.
So I’ll recommend that Miracle League boards everywhere follow suit – if your not performing background checks; start now, if you are, you deserve a congratulations. The board sets the example for the volunteers – got get ‘em gang…
